What to Look For

If you're into baking, you're going to value oven performance above all else, and you'll likely require a few special features as well. If you had to install a larger windowsill to accommodate the sheer volume of cooling pies, you'll want to check out these ovens.

First of all, if you're looking at a gas model, you'll likely want one with a convection oven. Without convection, a gas oven might not heat with the consistency you require. If you're cooking something fragile, however, such as a souffle, the convection will be more hindrance than help—an electric oven should offer better heat distribution and better granularity on the oven's controls.
